Girl, Stolen
Sixteen-year-old Cheyenne Wilder is sleeping in the back of the car while her stepmom fills a prescription for antibiotics. Before Cheyenne realizes what's happening, the car is being stolen. Griffin hadn't meant to kidnap Cheyenne and once he finds out that not only does she have pneumonia, but that she's blind, he really doesn't know what to do. When his dad finds out that Cheyenne's father is the president of a powerful corporation, everything changes--now there's a reason to keep her. How will Cheyenne survive this nightmare?

“Girl Stolen,“ by April Henry is the story of a blind teenage girl, Cheyenne, who is inadvertently kidnapped by a young boy, Griffin, who didn’t see her asleep in the back of the car. Griffin’s inexperience and his desire to please his harsh father leads him to bring the girl home, once he had found out she was blind. Cheyenne’s struggle to save herself puts a lot of tension in the actions within the book, particularly in light of the girl being blind. I found myself wondering how she could ever get free when she couldn’t see what and who was around her. Cheyenne is definitely a strong-willed girl in a difficult situation.

Though it is a story I’ve heard before, Author Henry does a good job, particularly in the second half of the book in keeping the suspense and action going right until the very last page of the book.

If you get this book, I think you’ll probably like it. I rated it 3-stars only because I have seen this basic story before several times.
