Review

Allies, by Alan Gratz was a very moving and inspiring book to read. Being a YA novel, it was a relatively quick read. I’d highly recommend this book for Middle Schools to read in every history class. Gratz covers the event of D-Day with such heart and insight. The characters show a good array of the people involved in WWII and what people went through. Young readers will find references that they may want to explore further due to their being things experienced only by those familiar with the ’40’s, but I think that is a good thing. The book shows in part some of the trials and tribulations that our past generations had to endure. Trials that we will never, God willing, be called to endure. Great read.
