Perhaps I’ve come to rely on Korman’s books being fantastic, but this story just didn’t keep me turning the pages. In fact, I only foound out at the end of the story that this is just book one in this series and I don’t really have any interest in reading the next book, which goes on to further the story of these kids growing up in a small town of under 200 people. Their town, Serenity, is unlike any other town anywhere. There, the kids are taught to trust, tell the truth, don’t keep secrets, and basically, be model citizens.
