Unsportsmanlike Conduct (A Harlow Brothers Mystery Book 4)

Category: ReviewAuthor: Jacqueline VickGenres: Humor, murder mystery, ThrillerSeries: A Harlow Brothers MysteryEdward and Nicholas Harlow thought the charity cricket match would be a casual affair—until a bold professional player announces his upcoming tell-all. A book packed with enough secrets to set the room on fire. Hours later, he’s dead, bludgeoned with a cricket bat, and reputations aren’t the only things at risk. Edward, the polished etiquette writer, wants no part of the case. But his brother, Nicholas, is eager to dive in—especially after a deadly ambush leaves him with a score to settle. With an alluring yet cunning reporter following their every move, and the case taking twists faster than a spin bowler’s delivery, the brothers team up and go head-to-head with a killer who’s always one step ahead.Again, the 4th Harlow Brothers Mysteries, “Unsportsmanlike Conduct,” kept the pace in this murder mystery series. Vick’s witty back-and-forth banter between the Harlow brothers, Edward and Nickolas, kept me entertained. The plot moved along and, I must confess the brothers solved the murders before I did. There were an abundance of players to weed through, which slowed me down a bit (but then, I write MG and YA novels and have gotten used to the simpler writing.). This series of stories does read a lot like the old ‘who done its’ which is fine by me. For those of you who have read the other three stories in the series, there will be a surprise or two for you in this installment. Read more
