Author of Easy Read YA and Hi/Low MG Books

Avery Grambs has a plan for a better future: survive high school, win a scholarship, and get out. But her fortunes change in an instant when billionaire Tobias Hawthorne dies and leaves Avery virtually his entire fortune. The catch? Avery has no idea why -- or even who Tobias Hawthorne is.
To receive her inheritance, Avery must move into sprawling, secret passage-filled Hawthorne House, where every room bears the old man's touch -- and his love of puzzles, riddles, and codes. Unfortunately for Avery, Hawthorne House is also occupied by the family that Tobias Hawthorne just dispossessed. This includes the four Hawthorne grandsons: dangerous, magnetic, brilliant boys who grew up with every expectation that one day, they would inherit billions. Heir apparent Grayson Hawthorne is convinced that Avery must be a conwoman, and he's determined to take her down. His brother, Jameson, views her as their grandfather's last hurrah: a twisted riddle, a puzzle to be solved. Caught in a world of wealth and privilege, with danger around every turn, Avery will have to play the game herself just to survive.
Just finished reading The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes and thoroughly enjoyed the read, the adventure, the mystery. This YA book was filled with twists and turns as the reader follows young Avery Grambs into her life-changing inheritance. Overnight she becomes probably the richest girl her age, or of girls of any age. Besides the expected experiences of her life turning up-side-down, her inheritance comes with danger and questions. So many questions. Why had she inherited this amazing fortune from a man whom she never knew existed, and who had no connection to her family. Why had he picked her? The game starts right away as she and those who were left out of the will, entirely, try to find out why she got the money and they didn’t. It could fuel some very bad blood. Also, could Avery meet the stipulations of the will? Who will she be able to trust? Let the games begin. Read The Inheritance Games. Then, start looking for the second book in this four book series.
