Heart of the Castle: A Ghost Story
Katie didn’t expect the most haunted castle in Europe to hold the answers to an incredible family secret. During a summer studying abroad in Transylvania, she finds herself at the gates of Bran Castle, the one time prison of medieval ruler, Vlad “The Impaler.” More recently, in life, Bran Castle was home to the King and Queen of Romania. In death, the castle was home to just the queen’s heart.
Now, along with 15-year-old Katie’s friends Cam, John, and new roommate Ruth, she uncovers a century-old mystery and a terrifying adventure. Will haunting spirits from the past lead her to safety and treasure, or push her into the hands of a deadly ex-secret policeman hunting for the same prize?

Faces in the Flames: A Ghost Story
SCUBA diving on a sunken WWII ship is dangerous, especially when it’s haunted! When Cameron enters a forbidden wreck after strangely being “called inside,” he finds a shiny keepsake. From the moment his fingers close around it, his life changes drastically, as well as the lives of people he’s yet to meet. Read the unique, “Faces in the Flames: A Ghost Story,” a fictional account inspired by the true harrowing tale of sailors who were forced to make life and death decisions to escape the burning inferno of the U.S.S. Mississinewa and some who never did escape.
“Faces in the Flames” also includes the bonus epilogue, “The True Story,” which tells the dramatic actual stories of both crewmen and rescuers at the sinking of USS Mississinewa. The “Miss” was an oil tanker sunk in the Imperial Japanese Navy’s first use of a suicide torpedo in WWII.
My dad was actually on the Mississinewa when it was sunk and I’ve been researching the ship for over 22 years. There are plenty of supenatural stories associated with the ship and I’ve used a few pieces of those stories in this book. Overall, the book is what I call, an “Easy Read” story, written at a 3rd grade reading level, but has been read, and appreciated by, MG, YA, and adult readers. Let yourself get swept up in the camaraderie of the Navy life, or the ties of family. Read Faces in the Flames: A Ghost Story.
